Michael Moore schools Maria Bartiromo on capitalism.

It really says something about the complete collapse of Reaganism and Reagonomics that even Joe Scarborough can no longer bring himself to publicly defend it and it's emphasis on deregulation. And yet that is where we now find ourselves.

And Michael Moore does a masterly job of explaining what is wrong with capitalism in it's present form.

Moore: Oh! It’s so incredible. Yes. Fifteen million people out of work.

Scarborough: Isn’t this a perfect example for you? Isn’t this a great example of what you’re trying to say? How there’s a disconnect between what’s going on on Wall Street, 10,000, and Main Street, 10% unemployment?

Moore: Oh, it’s not a disconnect. It’s connected very well. It’s connected just the way our economic system is set up. It’s set up so that the pyramid scheme that we call capitalism—it’s become a pyramid scheme now—the very few at the top get away like bandits making billions and billions of dollars. And everybody else in the lower parts of the pyramid are told to work really hard and maybe some day they can come up and be on top of the pyramid too. Well guess what? There’s only a few people that can sit on top of the pyramid and it’s just so revolting and so immoral when we live in a country—the wealthiest country on earth—fifteen million people unemployed. One in every eight homes right now is in foreclosure or delinquency. And they’re celebrating on Wall Street? And they’re paying each other bonuses?

Maria Bartiromo tries to undermine Moore's point but he basically steamrollers her out of the way.

She should have known that, when Joe Scarborough can no longer defend it, you're on the losing side of an argument.

Who Is Responsible For Financial Crisis?

Hannity has, for months, been attempting to blame the poorest members of society for the subprime mortgage crisis. He makes the mistake here of attempting to make his case in front of Michael Moore.

All Hannity succeeds in doing is showing how little he understands working class Americans.

I am not religious in any way, but I know that friends of mine, who are religious, often hear things in church which they disagree with. The notion that they should walk out simply wouldn't occur to them.

The Bush Gang Subpoena Michael Moore

There's simply no end to the Bush administration's bizarre attitude to the law. At a time when they are citing executive privilege to avoid any investigation into their own acts of alleged illegality, they seem to have found the time to issue a subpoena to Michael Moore for having the temerity to visit Cuba. Now, as both Leonardo di Caprio and Cameron Diaz have visited Cuba without causing the administration's heckles to rise, one can only presume that it was the fact that Moore's visit was politically embarrassing to them which has provoked this reaction. This administration really acts like spiteful children at times.

Michael Moore demands apology from Wolf Blitzer

Michael Moore went off on Wolfie and CNN for a hit piece they aired about "Sicko" right before he came on. He was hot! He slapped the beard around pretty good...He says he'll post the facts refuting their claims on his website tonight. He then attacked CNN and Blitzer for not doing their job in the run up to the war (where were you when it mattered?) and said that everything he said about the Iraq war did come to pass. He wondered why it took him so many years to get Cheney on teevee? He asked when America will get sick and tired of the "crap" they show...

The difference between Europeans and Americans: "In France the government are afraid of the people, in the United States the people are afraid of the government".

In Britain, Margaret Thatcher - at the height of her powers - attempted to introduce a poll tax. Rioting broke out in the streets and within weeks she was gone, decapitated by her own party. Bush has dispensed with Habeas Corpus in the United States... and nothing has happened... To Europeans that seems very odd.

In a democracy the government should fear us, it should never be the other way around.
