Rep. Steve King Defends Joe Wilson and The Confederate Flag.

Steve King attempts to defend Joe Wilson, even going as far as to argue that the reason Wilson voted in favour of keeping the Confederate flag waving above South Carolina's state Capitol is because he merely wants to commemorate relatives who fell in the Civil War.

Yeah, and Germans who wave Swastika's would no doubt be merely commemorating their relatives who died during WWII.

And King claims that, when he read Maureen Dowd's piece, he had no idea what race she was referring to. I'm sorry, but that simply beggars belief...

No-one who read it could have had any doubt what she was referring to.

But Wilson’s shocking disrespect for the office of the president — no Democrat ever shouted “liar” at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq — convinced me: Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.
I mean, that's not exactly a subtle point. You don't have to agree with what Dowd is alleging in order to understand it.

King's feigned ignorance is utterly unconvincing.
