Quote of the week.

Obama, facing a bunch of bankers keen to explain why the businesses they run are so complex and why this requires them to pay their staff, and by extension themselves, such exorbitant wages, issues the following warning:

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”
Oh, this guy really gets it...

Remember what a I was saying about the mainstream media?

This 22 minute segment on Bill Moyers Journal will explain it all.

Bill Moyers interwiews Amy Goodman of Democracy now and Glenn Greenwald of Salon, but he's a lawyer who started out with a blog.
In March, 2009, he was selected, along with Democracy Now's Amy Goodman, as the recipient of the first annual Izzy Award by the Park Center for Independent Media, an award named after famed independent journalist I.F. "Izzy" Stone and devoted to rewarding excellence in independent journalism. The selection panel cited Greenwald's "pathbreaking journalistic courage and persistence in confronting conventional wisdom, official deception and controversial issues." [6]

Nunya,

I watched Glenn's interview with Moyers last night. I thought he made many excellent points. And I loved Amy's point that the lack of press questions regarding WMD was what sent many people scurrying towards the blogs looking for different news sources.

Thank you so much for trying to understand why the American public (in general, esp 8 years ago) has been so uninformed, or misinformed.

Oh, one of the things I always love about Americans who visit Britain is their reaction to our news. They always say something along the lines of, "Oh they really tell it like it is over here!"

It's quite obvious that news which challenges the government's version of events is something shocking to them.

And, through the clips I manage to glean off of YouTube, I can see that the American MSM actively attempts to keep the populace uninformed.
