O'Reilly is asking Americans to decide whether torture is necessary.

It's blatant from O'Reilly's ever increasingly reckless rhetoric, that he fears the Bush administration might actually face possible prosecution. He now chooses to portray anyone who opposes torture as being people who think, "raising your voices to terrorists" is a form of torture.

Of course, there is no-one actually making that argument but it serves Billo's purposes. Those who support torture are strong and those who oppose it are weak Liberals who would allow Americans to die rather than make "the tough choice".

He now wants to make the obscene argument that "torture works". I actually can't think of a more immoral argument that one could make, but that is where the right wing now find themselves.

Of course, it could be argued that pulling out the fingernails of terrorists children in front of them would "work", but I'm sure even Billo wouldn't want to go that far. But if what "works" is the only criteria being applied, then one is setting off down an incredibly slippery slope.

I love watching O'Reilly change his position as more comes to light. Originally, he used to argue that the US does not torture. Now he actually finds himself arguing that torture is a necessity.

He'll argue for whatever suits the Republicans on any given day. And the hoops he has to jump through in order to do so are simply hysterical.
