Wallace: Cheney thanked me!

It never fails to amaze me how proud some American journalists are when their bias is revealed.

Here we have Chris Wallace boast about how the Vice President thanked him - and promised to reward him - for defending Bush against comparisons with Nixon.

WALLACE: Let me ask you this, did the Vice President say to you, “thank you so much for defending the president and yes I’m going to be giving you a special exit interview in a couple of weeks?”

GALLAGHER: Did he say all that to you?

WALLACE: Yes.
I've already pointed out the validity of the Nixon comparison, but to hear Wallace boast about the reaction he received for defending Bush is quite breathtaking. Indeed, Wallace thinks it's indicative of "this current climate" that the comparison can even be made in the first place.

I also love the fact that Wallace sees no correlation between his behaviour and the behaviour of his right wing colleagues over the past eight years, where they have shamefully defended blatant illegality, and "this current climate".

"This current climate", a place where people dare to see comparisons between Bush and Nixon, is, according to Wallace, the result of Bush Derangement Syndrome or any other number of left wing maladies. In Wallace's world it couldn't possibly be being said because there is a genuine comparison to be made.

The only "Bush Derangement Syndrome" that exists is that of the Bush supporters and their blind following of a failed regime.

Dave,

I've always thought "Bush Derangement Syndrome" was a very apt description of the way he governed.
