David Letterman Reacts to John McCain Suspending Campaign.

Right wing nutters appear to think that McCain has pulled off a great chess move by suspending his campaign, but from this Letterman clip it rather appears that he is turning himself into a comedian's dream.

McCain cancelled Letterman by saying that he was racing to the airport to "save the country". However, whilst talking Letterman notices McCain being interviewed by Katie Couric on the live feed and calls out, "Hey Senator, do you need a ride to the airport?"

Letterman asks why McCain doesn't go to Washington and leave Palin to run the campaign in his absence. The laughter this thought elicits from the audience says all that needs to be said.

The McCain campaign is turning itself into a joke.
