Lieberman continues to push Obama/Hamas smear.
If the KKK were to say they would prefer to see McCain elected, would we ask ourselves why? Would we read any significance into that at all?
It seems to me that an awful lot of effort is going in to attacking Obama, not for anything that he says, but for any possible "guilt by association" which can be attached to him.
The party of "personal responsibility" appear to want to make Obama responsible for things that have nothing to do with him and are even sending out "independents" like Lieberman to make the case. This turkey won't fly.
Hat tip to Crooks and Liars.

There's no smear. Lieberman even said that Obama doesn't support their positions, despite the fact that a top Obama adviser just resigned when it surfaced he was meeting with Hamas. Lieberman said nothing that was not factual and did not in any way link Hamas to Obama.
He raised the questions as to why an organization like Hamas would prefer Obama to McCain. Certainly that's a legitimate question for the electorate to consider. In any case, there certainly is no "smear".
As I point out in another thread, almost the entire world wants Obama to beat McCain. To imply that it is only Hamas who wants Obama to beat McCain is a smear.
The Republican party are loathed by huge swathes of the planet. Lieberman concentrates on Hamas in an attempt to make it seem that only extremists loathe this administraton and what it has done.
That is a disgusting lie. It is the present Republican party who are the extremists who have ignored international law and have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents.
Lieberman is attempting to question why Hamas would support Obama. The question is actually why anyone would support a party which has acted outside of international law.
The smear is the implication that only Hamas support Obama, when in actuality, there are billions of us.
Based on personal experience, most Democrats don't even care what people outside the US think. Unlike you, we value our independence and tend to react particularly negatively to others trying to tell us what to do. So from my point of view, the more endorsements from Hamas, Brits, Russians, or whoever, the better it will be for the candidate I will be backing.
That of course dodges the whole point which is that despite your claims to the contrary, Lieberman isn't smearing anybody.
By the way, nice win for Obama tonight in West Virginia. ROFL.
By insinuating that it is unusual for Hamas to want Obama, and asking why this should be so, Lieberman is smearing Obama. My point isn't whether or not Democrats should care, it is whether or not this wish to see the Republicans beaten is universal.
And we all knew that Obama would lose West Virginia.
He'll still whip McCain's ass in November though.
And we all knew that Obama would lose West Virginia.
Lose? He got his ass beat down hard. The wasn't even competitive. The reason he wasn't competitive is that white working class voters have pretty much abandoned him. He does well with white latte sippers and blacks though.
He's still going to win the nomination and he's going to whip the ass of that old flip-flopper of yours come November.
One never knows. It might be kind of hard without the white working class though, since that's most of the country. Maybe they'll come back to him when Hillary exits, or maybe they won't.
I know that you are always dismissive of polls - as a supporter of Bush life is much easier that way I presume - but all polls show Obama beating McCain in November.
Sure things can change between now and then, but the Republican party are currently loathed, as the recent result from Mississippi clearly showed.
Brilliant analysis as always.
That'll be why you keep coming back Jason.
