Spokesman Resigns in White House Shake-Up

Shockerooni!

Wee Scott McClellan's hung his hat over the microphone and finally decided lying for a living is simply too exhausting.

Now there are many of us who had actually started to have a modicum of sympathy for anyone who is asked to be publicly accountable for Bush's inaction and misdeeds; especially over the last few months when lie seemed to stumble over lie and the whole horror that is Bush's Presidency has finally started to unravel.

With a gift for understatement for which he's never been previously recognised Bush said that McClellan had "a challenging assignment."

I'll say. He had to stand in front of a roomful of people who knew he was lying through his ass and hope they wouldn't actually laugh in his face.

Warming to his theme Bush continued, "I thought he handled his assignment with class." Yes folks, it takes real class to repeat, "I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation," twenty times a day. When, in actual fact, there is no legal requirement for him to maintain this silence. It was classic stalling techniques from start to finish.

And Scott is obviously getting out 'cos he knows what lies ahead. We should never forget that Scott claimed to look forward to the day when, post the Libby trial, he could talk to us honestly about those answers he and Bush gave that appeared to be misleading us.

Sadly, as Scotty races to the sunset we will never be able to know on who's authority that he reassured us that neither Libby nor Rove were involved in the leaking of Valerie Plame's name.

Nor, why the President launched an investigation into a leak in which he turned out to be the leaker.
