Fox's Shepard Smith says public option isn't a government takeover.

Shepard Smith first came out against torture, which must have alienated him from most Republicans who continue to argue that "it works".

Now he chides Dr John Barrosso for saying that a public option amounts to a government takeover of health care.

When Barrosso pretends that he, too, is against defending the insurance companies, Smith lets him have it.

Shepard Smith: Every vote against the public option is a vote for the insurance companies sir, it is!
In fact, he makes so much sense discussing this issue that one really has to wonder how long it will be before Fox fire him.

And the crap that comes out of Barrosso's mouth towards the end of this interview really is a thing to behold. Cliche stumbles over cliche as he tries to pretend that the Republicans aren't simply being obstructionist.

"There isn't one magic bullet, there's only this pile of steaming dog pooh! Which I am against! I just can't vote against it...."

And I love how, when Shepard points out that over 60% of Americans favour the public option, he replies, "It depends how you ask the question."

The Republican argument is falling apart in front of our eyes.
