DNC Goes All In: Takes On Birthers, Conservative "Mob" In New Web Ad.

"They lost the election. They lost on the Recovery Act, the budget and children's health care," the script reads. "They've lost the confidence of the American people after eight years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of jobs."

"Now, desperate Republicans and their well-funded allies are organizing angry mobs - just like they did during the election. Their goal? Destroy President Obama and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November."

I am actually really pleased that the Democrats have moved so swiftly to identify this shit as what it is; an organised campaign by people who cannot accept that they lost an election. A group of thugs who, having failed to win over the people during the election with their ideas, now seek to intimidate others from carrying out the change which America voted for.

What we have witnessed over the past few days has been an utter disgrace. It's simple thuggery. It's also the inevitable place where the Karl Rove school of politics would find itself.

"Win at any cost." "Define reality as what you say it is."

The Republicans will fight healthcare reform as if their lives depend on it, because it does. If they lose this battle, they lose a central tenet of their entire political philosophy. The Democrats need to steel themselves for even more of this crap. Because, if universal healthcare can be established, even the Republicans will never dare dismantle it. They fight this because they know it will be popular.
