America Is Michael Jackson!

It's Saturday, so here's Mayer as a special treat. I love his line that the only thing Sarah Palin has ever rebelled against is grammar and family planning.

Corporate America is and has been running the US since around 1946. I'm sick of people like Mahr's snarky ass (who benefits from corporate advertising by the way) telling me that I am represented in this representative democracy, and that all the problems in my life are all my fault. Bullshit. I deal with the choices Corporate America gives me. Mahr profits from them.

I'm sorry Kel,

I'm cranky today. I just watched this online

Frontline "Poisoned Waters"

and this
Obama and Environmentalists

And I'm reading William Greider's "Secrets of the Temple" which is about the Federal Reserve. I am sick to death of corporations doing whatever they want to do in order to make a profit and then convincing the American people that it is their fault that they are sick, or unemployed or poor, and that the government is evil. In the skewed view of life that lobbyists have, the government is evil when it gets in the way of their corporate masters making a profit.

Nunya,

I agree that corporate America is fucking things up for everybody, although I think we disagree when it comes "Mahr's snarky ass".

I think he is at least speaking up for the right side from within that corporate tent. I'd rather have that than the Fox alternative where everyone talks purely from a right wing perspective.

I understand your point, and I agree with most of it, I don't even dislike most of his work, and I do appreciate him on the left.

On the other hand Mahr has been making money as an entertainer for quite some time now, though, and I am not in his salary range. Something ugly happens to people sometimes when they get a little money here in America. All the sudden because they made it it's everyone else's fault that they are poor, and if they are poor, then they MUST be stupid.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I've been out of the country.

Yes, the American Dream really does make it your fault if you are poor, doesn't it? That's why right wingers love it so much. It takes away all societal responsibility.
