Henry Kissinger says President Obama is handling Iran well.

I am pleased to see that even the old war criminal agrees that it is best for Obama to stay well out of the current Iranian dilemma.

No matter what prevails, Obama has to deal with the Iranian issue. And, if he chooses one side and the other side ends up in power, then the road to engagement closes.

So, I think he is very wise to nail himself to the fence and announce that this is a matter for the Iranians.

I agree. On a similar note, Ron Paul was the only one to vote against the resolution of support for the Iranian people. I'm sure he will take some flak for it, but I think it was the right call. This is something they have to figure out on their own and any statement from us supporting one side or the other would be equivalent to Osama weighing in on who he would like to see as U.S. president. It would only serve as ammo for their opponents.

I'm not certain it is possible to liberate a people from their government. It's just one of those things where if you don't do it yourself, it doesn't stick.

I totally agree, SP. We simply have to keep our noses out of this one, especially because of the history of both our countries regarding Iran.
