Cheney lectures on "contrived indignation and phony moralising."

Cheney: Yet for all these exacting efforts to do a hard and necessary job, and to do it right, we hear from some quarters nothing but feigned outrage based on a false narrative. In my long experience in Washington few matters have inspired so much contrived indignation and phony moralising as the interrogation methods applied to a few captured terrorists. I might add that people who consistently distort the truth in this way are in no way to lecture anyone about values.
That's unbelievable. It is simply beyond his imagination to conceive that some people might be genuinely outraged by what he has done.

He thinks the outrage is "feigned" and is nothing more than, "contrived indignation". He just can't get it through his head that what he has done has genuinely repulsed people. That really is the mindset of a monster. He simply doesn't believe that everyone doesn't think the way he does.

And that is why we call him "Darth" Cheney.

He is an absolute monster.

This man is incapable of remorse. He thinks we are "feigning" our outrage.

It's the kind of mindset which Saddam displayed shortly before they hung him.

No regrets, no doubts. And, if you disagree then you are "feigning" it.

Cheney really can't bring himself to accept the validity of any argument other than his own.

That's why this speech is peppered with so many spectacular lies. He really thinks he can make reality what he wants it to be.

This speech really is shameful. There's no way back for him from this; he really is the Vice President FOR torture.
