Does Torture Work?

Leaving aside the fact that torture leads to unreliable information, I find it simply astonishing that such questions are even being asked on American national television.

But this is the natural result of Cheney and others taking to the airwaves to argue that "torture works".

That this kind of thing is being debated in the world's most powerful democracy is some indication of how low the Bush administration have taken the US. Historians will devote entire chapters to this period of American history. And it will not be viewed well.
