Meghan McCain to Laura Ingraham: ‘Kiss my fat ass!’

The insane wing of the Republican party are tearing themselves apart. Laura Ingram, surely one of the foulest creatures of that wing, has turned on John McCain's daughter, Meghan, and is attacking her for... her weight.

McCAIN (on MSNBC): And I think there's an extreme on both parties and I hate extreme. I don't understand. I have friends that are the most radically conservative and radically liberal people possibly ever and we all get along. We can find a middle ground.

INGRAHAM (mocking): Ok, I was really hoping that I was going to get that role in the Real World, but then I realized that, well, they don't like plus-sized models. They only like the women who look a certain way. And on this 50th anniversary of Barbie, I really have something to say.
In this video McCain gives her response.
“It infuriates me,” she said. “I’m a political writer on a blog, and all of a sudden I’m too fat to write?” The View’s conservative co-host, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, called Ingraham’s remarks “a low blow.”

McCain said she felt like Tyra Banks when the model “went on her show in her bathing suit and said, ‘Kiss my fat ass.’” “That’s what I feel right now,” McCain said. “I’m like, ‘Kiss my fat ass!’”
Ingraham has responded by saying that McCain needs to learn how to deal with satire and “teasing.” Ingraham appears to think that it is "satire" to belittle someones political opinion based on their weight, which seems to imply that Ingraham doesn't know what satire actually is.

But what's extremely clear is that Ingraham, Coulter, Limbaugh and others are very much becoming the public face of the Republican party... and it's astonishingly ugly.

Nearly half of the Republican party are women. What percentage of them aren't sensitive about their weight? I'm going to estimate the number somewhere around 0.003%. Somehow I doubt Ingraham is going to see a boost after attacking the Republican presidential nominees daughter for being overweight.

SP, it's an astonishing thing to do isn't it?

It was also such a knee jerk "Coulter like" reaction to any disagreement, even with an ally, to use snide humour and cheap jibes to deflect from any policy discussion.
