GOP: The Party of Rush.

The Democrats are really pushing home the message that the Republican party are now best represented by the face of Rush Limbaugh.

“I’m encouraging every Democrat, every progressive, to be pointing out this powerful but painful truth: The party of Lincoln is now the Party of Limbaugh,” Begala continued. “We should make every Republican answer this: Why do they want our president to fail?”

Begala’s partner on CNN, James Carville, who first articulated the Rush message in early February, is also pushing Dems to blare this message, he confirms. “He is the embodiment of the Republican party, circa 2009,” Carville said. …

But Obama is painting Rush and others as aligning themselves on the side of "special interest groups" rather than the side of the American people, who overwhelmingly voted for him and rejected the notion of special interest groups running Washington.

Within that framework, Rush, O'Reilly and Hannity can be seen as exactly what they are: paid shills.
