McCain's chances are slim.

One of the sites that I am more and more relying on is 538.com who are predicting that Obama has an 82.8% chance of being the next president. (Since this interview that has climbed to 85.4%)

Here, the founder of 538.com, Nate Silver, explains why they give Obama such a high percentage chance of winning. Since 1960 only one candidate has ever recovered from being five points behind with 35 days to go - and gone on to win - and that was Ronald Reagan. All the rest have lost.

McCain has a mountain to climb and very little time left to climb it.
