Barack Obama: Colin Powell and Unity in America.
Obama uses Powell's endorsement to undermine McCain's entire election strategy.
The tactics being used by McCain are getting "uglier and more intense" and they are "calculated to mislead and inflame and divide. We can have a tough contest, we can argue ideas, but we gotta have a line that we don't cross. The other side want to make a big election about small things."
And he's right. I'm delighted that Powell chose to endorse Obama on the terms that he did. McCain's campaign has been disgraceful and Powell came very near to pointing that out.
