Was Palin pregnant when she eloped?

I was watching a CNN documentary on Sarah Palin last night and was startled when the voice over announced casually that Sarah Palin gave birth to her son Track eight months after she and her boyfriend eloped to marry in secret. It did make me wonder whether she was pregnant when she ran off to marry, so I started looking online this morning to see what I could find.

It seems Alan Colmes is thinking along the same lines, although he was way ahead of me as his suspicions were alerted by her acceptance speech:

In her speech in Dayton today, Gov. Sarah Palin announced that she and her husband are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, which means they were married on August 29, 1988.

On April 20, 1989 – less than eight months after they eloped – their first son, Track, was born.

I think I can guess the real reason why they eloped, and it wasn’t to save money on an expensive wedding.

Now there is always the possibility that Track could have been born prematurely, but if he wasn't, then we are once again facing a situation where a Republican insists that we all do as she says and not as she does.

Palin insists that schools teach children "abstinence only" and that children should not to be taught about contraception or sex education.

What does it say about Palin, if she is demanding that children be taught "abstinence only", were it to turn out that she herself couldn't abstain?
