Good regime change versus bad regime change.

Good regime change:

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I hope we don't have to go to war, but if we go to war, we will disarm Iraq. And if we go to war, there will be a regime change.
Bad regime change:
THE PRESIDENT: "Russia has invaded a sovereign neighbouring state.... Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century.... We have no doubts about it. This is a deliberate attempt to destroy an entire country and change the regime."
One of the problems about ripping up international law - and acting as if there is nothing anyone can do to stop you - is that you leave the door open for other powerful nations to do the same.

But to listen to Bush lecture others on the unacceptable practice of imposing "regime change" during the 21st century is simply beyond belief.

Wasn't he at one point hinting at regime change in Cuba as well?

BS. Multiple half-sentences are taken out of context and pasted together to make it look stupid. Bush's point was about overthrowing a democratic govt.

But they couldn't even do that right. Half of that (the last couple sentences about regime change) was said by Sikharulidze not Bush.

Nice going taking that misquote from the dailykos but not crediting them and instead just linking their source.

I don't buy into Bush's democratic government bullshit. Regime change is illegal under international law, full stop. The law makes no distinction between democratic or non democratic governments.
