President George Bush: 'Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter'

When a friend told me about this yesterday I thought he must be passing on an apocryphal story. Then I read this:

The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.
What can one say about that? How did someone that moronic ever get to lead the most powerful nation on Earth?
One official who witnessed the extraordinary scene said afterwards: "Everyone was very surprised that he was making a joke about America's record on pollution."
Why should we be surprised anymore? The man doesn't care. He proved that after Hurricane Katrina. If he didn't take action whilst his own people suffered in New Orleans, why should we expect him to care about a hypothetical like climate change?

Morons behave moronically, hey ho...
