McCain declares ‘we have succeeded’ in Iraq

It's certainly not a misstatement, as he's said it before.

McCain is now saying that the US "have succeeded" in Iraq. And the wingnuts are falling over themselves in joy. This is his inevitable reaction to Maliki forcing Bush to name a timetable.

At first he denied that Maliki had asked for such a thing, then he wrote his comments off as politics, now he attempts to embrace it as proof of victory.

This is the modern equivalent of the Paris Peace Accords. It's victory, not because it looks like victory, but because we say it's victory.

McCain's campaign is becoming more incoherent day by day.
