Iraq Intelligence Report Phase 2: Bush Administration Lied About Pre-Invasion Intelligence.

Hard to believe I know but intelligence reports just released have actual proof that Bush and Co. lied to lead the US into it's first ever unprovoked war.

And it should be noted that this report also undermines claims made by McCain regarding the Iraq war.

And, as Clarke rightly points out, these people cannot simply be allowed back into polite society after lying to enable a war that has caused the death of over 4,000 American soldiers. There has to be some form of censure unless they admit error and ask for forgiveness.

A lot of people are saying that this water under the bridge, but I think it's very important to have this on record. The Republicans have a very strong inclination towards revisionist history (e.g. Vietnam), which makes something like this necessary.

Oh, I agree with you Todd. This is now a matter of historical record. That's very important. Though had this been released sooner perhaps someone could have persuaded Pelosi to change her mind and impeach the buggers.

Speaking about revisionist history : how confident are you in your assertion it was America's first unprovoked war ? I suppose the Spanish-American War is a bit old so how about Nam ? Just a couple of for instances.

I'll take that on the chin Opit. It's rarely that I'm accused of being too generous regarding American history and interventionism. I was actually taking it from Olbermann's commentary, but, you're right, I shouldn't have.
