Poll: More disapprove of Bush than any other president

I would be lying if I said I found this even surprising:

A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush is handling his job as president.

"No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup Poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president's disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director.

As evidenced By Cheney's "So?" remark, when told that most Americans did not support the Iraq war, this administration have governed as if the wishes of the people are of no concern to them and that they know best. Their argument has always appeared to be that democracy means that you can vote them out in four years time but that, other than that, the public have no say in the process.

Bush's crippling unpopularity is an indication of what the public think of that arrogant style of governing.

CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider adds, "He is more unpopular than Richard Nixon was just before he resigned from the presidency in August 1974."

President Nixon's disapproval rating in August 1974 stood at 66 percent.

More unpopular than Nixon before he was forced to stand down. As I say, it's not remotely surprising. Only the truly deluded continue to support this high contender for the worst president of all time.

And John McCain intends to run on a campaign which essentially offers a third Bush term in office. Good luck with that McSame.
