Tancredo Ad - Disgraceful or what?

I'm glad Republicans no longer use fear to try and get elected....

Political correctness means that you do not talk about this.

This post has nothing to do with political correctness, it is concerned with campaigning based on fear.

The "politics of fear" I would assume
would mean the creation of "fear" that actually is not a concern. My definition would include grandmothers
taking their shoes off as they go through security at the airport.
If you do not think Islamic Jihadists want to kill us then I would agree that this ad would be promoting "fear".
The ad is intended to show that there is more than illegal alien gang members from Mexico to worry about. If you do not regulate who is allowed into the country then you will get the bad along with the good. The ad is actually directed at you. It basically says that any calculation of the benefits of cheap third world labor and your love of it, must be balanced against the true costs if there were a attack on the United States homeland. Tancredo is often pegged as the one issue guy. This ad shows that this is more than a Mexican illegals issue. Next week you might see an ad showing all the hospitals that have closed down in California....(FEAR)
And all the old people that have nothing to worry about! (sarcasm)

Wow, Alexander and I agree on something.

Jason, I think you are confusing Alexander with Alex. The idea of Alex coming out with this nonsense is simply beyond belief. Alexander is a fairly new poster here. Indeed, he may even be limited to this single post.

And Alexander, Tancredo is conflating Mexican immigrants with Islamic fundamentalists and making a link between the two where none exists. He is also implying that a vote for him will help prevent another London or Madrid style bombing in the United States. What is that other than the politics of fear?
