Feingold Opposes Mukasey's Nomination

Feingold says perfectly why Mukasey is not the man for the job.

"We need an attorney general who will tell the president that he cannot ignore the laws passed by Congress. And on that fundamental qualification for this office Judge Mukasey falls short."

LOL, how'd that workout for him? Let's see, the radical wing of the Democrats are unable to legislate defeat in Iraq, the trends in Iraq are turning positive, FISA reform is not going the way the Dems might like, and Mukasey gets confirmed. Not such a good year for the radical left in the US, nor their obsessed kindred abroad.

The "radical" wing of the Democratic party? The American people overwhelmingly come down with the Democrats on both Iraq and FISA according to every opinion poll. Are the majority of the American people "radicals"?

Or are you in a minority position and seeking to make your own views universal and all those who think the opposite - even if they represent the majority of your country - "radicals"?

I see that you are unable to differentiate between moderate Democrats and the radicals who pander to groups like MoveOn. I can understand that since you don't live here and your window into things here is quite limited. You see, in order for bills to get passed in Congress and confirmations to take place, the moderate Democrats have to come to agreement with the moderate Republicans.

Mathematics tells us that the only way for things like the Protect America Act to be passed and Mulkasey to be confirmed are when the moderate majority votes in their favor. So given that legislation is being passed and people are being confirmed that the radical wing of the Democratic party does not care for, then the split between the radicals (who you don't believe exist) and the moderates (who I guess you also don't believe exist) is highlighted for all to see. The Republicans can't get this stuff passed by themselves.

Are the majority of Americans radical? Because the majority of Americans agree with the Democrats on both Iraq and FISA...

How many Democrats voted with the Republicans to get Mukasey confirmed? And, as someone who claims to be an "independent", how can you dismiss the majority of the Democratic party (and the majority of the US public) as "radicals" because they do not agree with the Republicans?
