Gore and UN panel win Nobel prize

Al Gore has just been awarded the Nobel peace prize for his work to stop man made global warming and I can only imagine the right wing noise machine's reaction.

Malkin is already wondering if his head can get any bigger and that was only because he was nominated, I dread to think how she'll react to the news that he has actually won.

Mr Gore was praised as "probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted", through his lectures, films and books.

I wonder if this will make him less or more likely to consider having a run for the White House?

The nuts have, as expected, got themselves into a tizzy over this.

Damian Thompson: “The former US Vice-President has already taken over from Michael Moore as the most sanctimonious lardbutt Yank on the planet. Can you imagine what he’ll be like now that the Norwegian Nobel committee has given him the prize? More to the point, can you imagine how enormous his already massive carbon footprint will become once he starts jetting around the world bragging about his new title?”

Pirate’s Cove: “The Nobel Prize committee has basically surrendered to hysterics, mass exaggerators, and liars, most of who are not even climatologists or even any type of scientist.”

Ken McCracken: “Just goes to show you that the Nobel Peace Prize is about as authentic a recognition of achievment in the field of peace as a winning lottery notification via email. Perhaps even less.”

Confederate Yankee: “I wasn’t even aware that they had a Nobel Prize for deceptive rhetoric.”

Leaning Straight Up: “I’m disgusted, but no more then I was in 2000 when he went on his robotic mission to count all democrat votes in Florida. Apparently the Nobel Peace Prize is not what it used to be.”
