Did we really expect something different? All the signs have been there. We've been leading up to going into Iran for a year now. They're going to have to institute a draft if they expect to keep troop levels up. A lot of my friends have our own "exit strategies" if there's a draft, some sort of move toward martial law, or a republican is elected in 08. I'd rather not "cut and run", but our options seem rather limited.
I think the plan is to attack Iran from the air, and then hope that Iran don't march into Iraq declaring war.
It's a suicidal policy, but I'd put nothing past these lunatics.And, you're right. They have been gearing up to it for the last year.
