Elizabeth Edwards confronts Ann Coulter

During Hardball's love in with Ann Coulter—-Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of John Edwards, called in and asked her to stop lowering the bar with personal attacks in the country's political debate. Coulter was not ready for this one. Her only defence is to claim that this is an attempt to get her to stop writing books and to stop speaking.

Coulter later questioned why the presidential candidate didn't phone in himself, to which Elizabeth had a ready answer. "I haven't talked to John about this call. I'm phoning in as a mother," she said to much applause. "I'm the mother of that boy who died. . . These young people behind you are the age of my children. You're asking them to particpate in a dialogue that's based on hatefullness and ugliness instead of on the issues and I don't think that's serving them or this country very well.
Again, Coulter continued to see this as a first amendment issue. "I think we've heard all we need to hear," she says. "The wife of a presidential candidate is asking me to stop speaking. No." Coulter comes across as more insane than usual.

Ann Coulter nearly speechless, there's something you don't see everyday.

She clearly had her feathers ruffled and you could see the sweat as she tried to pass of Edwards' comments.

Ha.

Oh, she's sweating. And her First Amendment claims are simply laughable.

No-one is attempting to shut her up as she claims, they are talking about the gutter level at which she engages. But she doesn't get that point. The gutter is the only level at which Ann can engage.
