FRONTLINE "Spying on the Home Front"
A new documentary from the Frontline team about the Bush regime's programme of spying on it's own citizens. You can watch it tonight on PBS or online.
As Glenn Greenwald says:
The real value in the program is to serve as a reminder for just how little we know about what our government is doing in spying on our domestic activities and communications and the data it is collecting. In particular, it is striking how little we still know about the NSA's actions as it relates to the revelation that the Bush administration has been violating the law by eavesdropping on our telephone conversations in secret and without any judicial oversight.

Paranoia. So the government thinks there's a threat in Vegas and they check hotel records (this wasn't in the promo but it's a large part of the show). Sounds like due diligence to me.
Of course you would see things that way, Jason. There is simply no right that you wouldn't forego if asked to do so by a Republican.
Nor, as far as I can tell, is there anything that you have ever found questionable about Bush ignoring laws and trampling the Constitution.

Of course you're mistaken. There is however no expectation of privacy when booking a hotel any more than there is an expectation of privacy when booking a flight. I think that's the year I was in Vegas for New Year's, and if that's the case I was most likely caught up in it. Since had there been an incident I may have been a victim, I'm quite happy that somebody was doing their job. I wish someone had caught the 9-11 hijackers who were staying in a motel down the street from me and working out in a nearby gym, but I guess that's only tangentially related.

The key being as you can tell.
The key being as you can tell.
No, the key being that, even when given an opportunity to list the many things you find "questionable about Bush ignoring laws and trampling the Constitution", then you pass it up and offer nothing.
