Active troops ask congress to end Iraqi occupation

First, we have the British head of the army stating that we have to get out of Iraq and now this:

Sixty five active duty service members are officially asking Congress to end the war in Iraq -- the first time active troops have done so since U.S. invasion began in 2003.

Three of the service members will hold a press conference Wednesday explaining their decision to send "Appeals for Redress" under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act to their members of Congress. Under the act, National Guard and Reservists can send communications about any subject to their member of Congress without punishment.
I expect the Republican attack dogs will come out in full force against these guys. It's really coming to something when we have this level of mutiny in the ranks, when the armed forces themselves are holding press conferences saying we have to get out now.

Blair and Bush really thought they could ignore world opinion and see this thing through by the sheer strength of their own stubbornness. It now appears that the armed forces on both sides of the Atlantic have had enough.

Of course, these brave men and women will instantly be labelled cowards by the armchair generals who courageously insist that they are not prepared to "cut and run". No, no, they will continue to eat popcorn and watch Fox News as their part of the war on a noun.

The courage of these war supporters is something to behold.
