Supporters of Israel target the bloggers

The Israeli's use of Hasbara has always been an effective way that they ensure their version of reality is the one that is most often heard. Now they have devised a way to attack blogs that deliver a message that they do not find supports the Israeli position during their attacks on Lebanon.

GIYUS.org have released a megaphone desktop tool that will instruct members which blogs are currently debating Israel and sending them to these blogs to make Israel's case for her.

Looking to voice your opinion where and when it counts? Each blog listed here has at least hundreds if not thousands other blogs linking to it, and has written about Israel in the last 48 hours. Just pick one and comment.
The Israelis really are astonishing when it comes to this stuff. My best friend, who is Jewish, showed me a little laminated card that she was given by her local synagogue outlining arguments for Israel and giving you the phone numbers of all local TV and radio stations requesting that you call if you see any programme critical of Israel.

Now this same strategy is to be employed against blogs that appear to show Israel in a negative light.

They have even prepared a script for people to use when addressing points on the blogosphere.

Booman Tribute has the list. There is also a site called Beyond Images which lists answers to give to various arguments. For example:
1. “ Israel does not want peace”

Response:

  • The Israeli people yearn for peace, and for an end to war and bloodshed. They have no wish to cause suffering to the Palestinian people, but hope for the time when Israelis can lead normal and secure lives.

  • Israel has never known genuine peace since it was founded in 1948. Over 24,000 Israelis have died as a result of wars and terror since then.

  • Every day in Israel , the debate about how to make peace continues, passionately and freely.

  • Government Ministers, opposition politicians, journalists, religious leaders, strategic analysts, writers and artists, student leaders, academics and retired army generals promote rival peace plans. Many participants call for radical new approaches; others argue that the Government's approach is correct. All have in common a desire to end the violence, and to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  • This debate is not the characteristic of a country that “does not want peace”.
I personally disagree strongly with Israel's current actions in the Middle East, but you can't help admiring such organisational skills, if the left could organise like this we'd have a much better chance of winning elections.

Gosh, if I were Jewish, I would muster all the rebellious attitude I can, and say, "Israel: Screw off. I'm not your tool." It's a matter of pride. I don't like it when my fellow 9/11 researchers attempt to "unify" the message by trying to force homogeneity upon it. Likewise, any Jew with pride ought to think for him/herself. Support the government of Israel? Fine. Explain it it your own words. Don't like it? Then speak up and burn those damn cards.

It's also the fact that the arguments on the cards are completely false.

Lots of pushing guilt buttons and Israel - with the fourth largest army in the world - being driven into the sea.

They seem to always feel the need to create the illusion that Israel's very survival is hanging by the thinnest thread. It's total balderdash.
