Matthews destroys Coulter.
Chris Matthews takes on Coulter and, for my money, he domolishes her. She, of course, has no sense of shame and fails to realise that her argument has vanished.
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." - John Kenneth Galbraith.
That is why the greatest danger of all is to allow new walls to divide us from one another.
The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.

Matthews was a wus, in my opinion. "You're a brilliant writer," over and over, is one of the things he kept saying. Surely there is a chance he was only being ridiculously cordial because it was such a nice day for weather, and he didn't want to steal anyone's sunshine. But she is not a brilliant writer. Anyone can write snappy prose if they are filled with hate and disinformation. She's not brilliant, she's a bitch, and if I had been in Matthews' position I would have opened with an insult, proceeded with more insults, and kicked her off the damn set. And if any of Ann's little teenybopper fans protested, I would give them a look that said, "Don't mess with me. Coulter puts me in a real suicidal mood, and I don't care who gest in my way."
But he did do a very good job of pointing out the illogic of her work. At least he did that. I like that.
Kel,
I thought about what this woman stands for and so came up with the following satire:
Coulter attacks Jesus over Liberal Agenda!
Thanks for the inspiration!
MM,
I think he was attempting to disarm her by being overly polite, he can't seriously think that she is a brilliant writer. She only deals in bile and invective and, as he did point out rather well, most of her comments border on rascist.
And the funniest thing is that you would kick her off the set. Damn if I was a producer I'd give you your own show!
Alex,
I read your spoof. Very funny, yet strangely plausible.
