What's Condi up to?

What is Condi up to?

We have seen hard Condi, the tough woman, supposedly banging heads in the Middle East. We have had Condi the athlete, working out in the gym. And we have had Condi the munificent, lending her fold-out bed to Jack Straw on a flight to Kuwait.

The latest incarnation is Condi the musician, finding time in her schedule of briefings, meetings and finessing the art of global diplomacy to pursue her love of classical music.

In a series of photographs published in The New York Times yesterday, Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State, is seen practising at her flat with a group of classical musicians. The message is clear: this woman can do everything.

She wouldn't be thinking of running for President, would she?

I think Condi's an echo. We keep hearing about her scintillating intellect, but I've yet to see any evidence to back up that claim. Unlike Rumsfeld or even Powell, I've yet to hear her express an independent thought. Her career appears to be fashioned by being the mouthpiece of her superiors.

That's hardly a qualification for the most powerful job in the world.

I notice that you could have chosen to defend Condi's intellect by giving me various examples of where she differs from Bush and others and displays a single original thought. You have chosen not to do so.

I wonder why. I suggest a lack of evidence.

I have never found a single instance where Condi expressed an independent thought.

I watched Powell attempt to pull the regime back from the Iraq invasion before his, "I follow orders" instincts kicked in and got him back in line.

I have watched Rummy and Wolfowitz attempt to railroad Bush into certain policies that favour their rather insane right wing/Likud agenda. Invading Iraq before Afghanistan, for example. Bush, thankfully, resisted.

From your pin up girl Condi, I have seen nothing other than obsequience.

You are asking me to prove a negative, rather like Bush demanded of Saddam before his illegal invasion. It is not possible to prove a negative.

Do Republicans take classes in this?

I have said that during all her time in office I have never heard her ruffle a feather or express an independent thought.

It would be tedious to provide a list of where Condi agrees with the administrations policies wholeheartedly as that is simply everywhere!

If you have an exception, feel free to post it.
