Six killed in Israeli air strike

As I reported here, Hamas have been offering Israel a deal of "quiet for quiet" through Egyptian intermediaries. I thought Israel should test Hamas' sincerity by accepting the deal.

After all, Israel have spent many years demanding Arafat stop violence that he had no control over, and now - with the election of Hamas - I felt Israel had a chance to deal with the organ grinder rather than the monkey.

Israel gave her answer today.

It's depressing beyond words.

Six Palestinians, including a child, have been killed in an Israeli air strike outside a militant training camp near Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The dead included a senior commander in the Popular Resistance Committees group and his five-year-old daughter. Witnesses said three rockets were fired. At least 12 people were injured.
The attack was the deadliest such strike since the Hamas-led Palestinian cabinet was sworn in last week.
