Grand Jury Hears Evidence Against Rove
It now appears that McClellan's resignation and Rove's change of position may have been less of a reshuffle and more of a tawdry attempt to avoid reporters legitimate questioning, as news is just breaking that Fitzgerald has recently met with the grand jury hearing who are considering evidence in the CIA leak case and, at this latest meeting, Fitzgerald is said to have introduced additional evidence against Rove.
Fitzgerald told the grand jury that Rove lied to investigators and the prosecutor eight out of the nine times he was questioned about the leak and also tried to cover-up his role in disseminating Plame Wilson's CIA status to at least two reporters.
You will remember that McClellan famously said that neither Libby nor Rove were involved in the leak in any way and that he claimed to "look forward" to the day when he could explain why his information was so flawed. He claimed the ongoing investigation prevented him from doing so in the meantime.
The timing is highly suspicious to say the least. He announces his departure yesterday and today we hear of this.
What's astonishing about this regime is that they operate in such a tacky manner and seem to assume that most of us are too stupid to notice.
However, apart from Scotty sneaking away to avoid any embarrassing questions, it now appears highly likely that Rove is going to be charged.
