Take Your Bow, Helen!

Thank God there's somebody with the balls to stand up to Bush.

Rise and take your bow, 82 year old, Helen Thomas.

President Bush reversed his policy of ignoring the veteran columnist during a White House press conference this week. He may wish he hadn't done so.

Her simple question, "Why are we in Iraq when Iraq did nothing to us?'', had Bush waffling on about not wanting a war and al Qaeda being in Afghanistan. None of which answered the question the woman, who once called him "the worst US president of all time", had asked him. (And, lest we forget, she's been in the press corps since JFK.)

In her weekly podcast, which I'll attach under related articles, she says that Bush simply didn't have an answer.

And the dean of the White House press corps doesn't stop there. Helen also slams Democrats for being too "chicken'' to stand up to the president on issues like domestic spying. A point I have often made here.

And Helen even attacks the White House press corps, saying they have "caved'' in to Bush. Another point we agree on!
