The Government is Being Dishonest About Rendition Flights Entering Britain

Our friends in the US won’t be aware of the huge controversy that’s taking place in Britain concerning supposed rendition flights into British airports. Various CIA planes have been photographed by British plane spotters at locations across the UK - raising the possibility that Britain is aiding the US as it transfers suspects to country’s where they may be tortured.

Jack Straw, the UK Secretary of State, has always maintained that there is no evidence of who is on board any private flights that enter the UK.

However More4 News, reporting tonight, has found that ALL planes (including private passenger jets) flying into Britain have to fill in what’s known as a general aviation report and that the form requires them to notify the authorities of full passenger details.

It now turns out that, in actual fact, three separate government entities have to be informed by people who operate non-scheduled civilian flights.

Customs - Police - Immigration. All three have to be informed.

Michael Moore (no, not that one, the Liberal MP) asked today in Parliament if there was such a requirement .

Dawn Primaralo admitted today that there was, indeed, such a requirement for flights into the UK.

So, if the CIA are flying flights into Britain (and we KNOW they are) then the authorities DO KNOW who is on board.

So why when asked in a parliamentary written question "which bodies maintain records of passengers on board non-charter aircraft which transit the United Kingdom?," did Karen Buck state in a written answer, "None. There is no obligation for operators to provide passenger lists to any UK body when transiting (i.e. overflying or refuelling in) the UK. Flight plans received by air traffic service providers contain no information about passengers, although copies of the full flight plan, held at the airport of departure, may include the total number of persons on board."

That answer is now revealed as a blatant lie. There are three seperate bodies that maintain records.

So why is Jack Straw pretending that we don’t know who is on these flights?
