I thought that the 1997 Amsterdam Trea...Seriously?<br /><br />I thought that the 1997 Amsterdam Treaty <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Agreement" rel="nofollow">incorporated that into the mainstream of European Union law.</a><br /><br />You are right that the UK opted out of this, so I couldn't go to Spain as I erroneously claimed, but I think that Romania and Bulgaria's citizens are tied to the Amsterdam treaty.
