Ben Stein: The Unemployed Are People With ‘Unpleasant Personalities…Who Do Not Know How To Do A Day’s Work’.

The current recession was caused by the greed of bankers gambling with other people's savings, and the downturn has led to many millions of people losing their jobs.

But you can always rely on people on the right to seek to make the unemployed, somehow, responsible for their own plight.

Take Nixon speechwriter and TV personality, Ben Stein. He has come up with this:

The people who have been laid off and cannot find work are generally people with poor work habits and poor personalities. I say “generally” because there are exceptions. But in general, as I survey the ranks of those who are unemployed, I see people who have overbearing and unpleasant personalities and/or who do not know how to do a day’s work.
So, people are not unemployed because of the disgraceful behaviour of some people working in the banking sector, they are unemployed because of their "overbearing and unpleasant personalities".

That's just a shameful thing to say.
